Writing in this week's Brexit-Watch, Tim Pope outlines suggested changes to England's higher education system with a renewed emphasis on practical skills and on-the-job training. With too many students being sold short by degree courses barely worth the paper they are written on, a re-calibration of our higher education sector is urgently required.
Collaboration is the key: "That means that employers and not government need to be engaged in assessing what courses should be offered and the volume of students offered them. A shotgun approach of just training all comers is likely to be a waste of the students’ time and public money."
